What does the o2 sensor do on an acura integra ls

95 acura integra B18b1 dohc. I put a chip on my o2 sensor then about 2 months later my engine blew. I put in another b18b and now my engine keeps getting flooded with fuel and i removed the o2 chip and everything is normal. is it possible that the o2 sensor is blown or not working.

The chip you put in probably thinks you have more modifications than you do, and increases fuel delivery.  What exactly do you mean by you put a chip on your o2 sensor?

i bought a chip to go on my throttle body for air and the this chip that went on the o2 was a surge oxygen power chip

It has a ground and power wire and wired straight in line with just the o2 sensor side.
