How do you remove ignition switch on a 1962 Mercedes 220 SE

Anyone have an easy fix for removing the ignition switch on a 1962 Mercedes 220 SE without removing the entire dash?  This is a restoration which was nearly complete.  Then the key won't turn and the steering column is locked up.
