on a o1 pontiac GA v6 is there a sensor to keep your belts tight and what is it a called & where is it located

I have a 01 pontiac Grand am v6 The belt doesnt seem to stay tight & it keeps throwing it.... Someone said I need a sensor..... What is it and where is it......

they are assholes, no sensor does this. your pulleys and tensioner is what you need to look at.
