what do i have to check when check engine light comes on

Check engine light came on. What do I check.

take it to like autozone, you will get a code and autozone will tell you wat the code means its free,  or advance auto parts,  they will plug in a small computer to your car.  you will get a print out of the codes the computer red,   hope this helps  thats what i reccomend........
