how do i go about replacing slave cylinder in 86 f150 4wd do i have to pull tranny?

do i need to pull tranny to replace this its external right?

u don't have to pull tranny all the way out but u do haft to remove the transfer case(easy to move around) put in5th gear seperate tranny from motor after removing rear trans mount u'll find u will have just enough room to get the slave out after u romve the bolt it will be a tight fit though
