what do i need to do if there is no spark from the distributor to the spark- plugs for a 1995 3vz camry engine.

Recently my car (1995 3vz camry) developed a hard start problem and i took it for diagnosis only to be told to change the crankshaft- position- sensor. I looked for the sensor and i could not find it only to be told that it was in the distributor. The reason im asking this question is because now there is no spark from the distributor to the spark- plugs. What can be wrong and if any, what do i need to change or replace?
