My ford F350 V10 just stalled on me at idle!!

I have a 1999 Ford F350 V10 fuel injected truck. It just stalled on me at idle. It took about 2-5 minutes to restart, then it didn't have any power. I limped home at about 30 mph because I could not press the accelerator down without it stalling. The check engine light is on but I do not have a way to check the codes. Thought I would try and get some info before taking it to a mechanic.
